BEAUCHAMP MOTORSPORTS ANNOUNCES SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT FOR 2010
March 22, 2010. Beauchamp Motorsports is very happy to announce that a new agreement for 2010 with sponsorship from Mopar Parts, Mobil 1 and Exide Batteries has been reached and Ron Beauchamp Jr. will once again pilot the #60 Mopar Parts Dodge in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. The association between Mopar, Mobil 1, and Exide Batteries and Beauchamp Motorsports is a long standing arrangement in Canadian Motorsports and all parties are pleased that the partnership will continue.
Last season saw the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Dodge consistently running up at the front of the field allowing Beauchamp to score eight top-five finishes and eleven top-tens. Ron Jr. would also score three podium finishes and wind up tied for second in the overall points total. The only thing that eluded the team last year was a race victory. “The Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Dodge Team had a really good season in 2009” said the driver. “We were in position to win a number of races, unfortunately we just seemed to miss out for one reason or another, but we’re determined to get to the top step of the podium in 2010” he added.
The Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide team has been working toward the season opener on June 5th at Delaware Speedway for quite some time and Beauchamp along with Crew Chief Chris Couvillion have been making sure their cars are ready for pre season testing. “We’ve done our usual thorough job of off season work to make sure that everything on both our oval cars and road course cars is ready to start the season” said Beauchamp. “Just like last year we expect to be fast and challenging for wins right from the start” he added.
Mopar Marketing Manager Jon Camilleri is excited to have their association with Beauchamp Motorsports continuing for 2010. “Beauchamp Motorsports and Mopar along with our partners at Mobil 1 and Exide Batteries have been together for many years and enjoyed an extremely successful partnership. We are very pleased to continue with Ron Beauchamp Jr. as the driver of the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Dodge Avenger in 2010 and continuing our involvement with Beauchamp Motorsports. Ron and his dad along with the entire team have worked tirelessly to improve their racing program and have always represented Mopar, Mobil 1 and Exide in a professional manner and we’re looking forward to another great season together”.
TEAM MOPAR BATTLES BACK FOR A TOP-TEN FINISH
June 6, 2010. Ron Beauchamp and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries team arrived at Delaware Speedway near London, Ontario for the Keystone Light 200, round one of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series expecting a challenging night from the competition. The hard fought duel on the track came as no surprise and Beauchamp was more than up to the task.
The #60 Mopar Parts Dodge was quick during the afternoon practice session and Beauchamp posted the fifth quickest time in qualifying. "It was a solid day early on for our team" said Beauchamp. "The car was a little loose but I knew it would race well, and a top-five starting spot is very good for the first race of the season" he added.
The green flag waved thirty minutes early due to an impending storm and Beauchamp wanted to make the most of what might be a rain shortened race. "The #60 Mopar Parts Dodge was a little off in the early going and I did drop a few positions" said the driver. "Crew Chief Chris Couvillion made the call for an early pit stop for an adjustment and that really helped the handling" he stated.
As Beauchamp returned the #60 Mopar Parts Dodge to the fight he immediately began improving his position and was soon inside the top-five runners. "The car was performing perfectly" he said excitedly. "Then the racing well…..she got a little rough out there. Everybody knew the rain was close by and everyone was getting a little too aggressive and we got chopped across the nose by the #9 car. I was up to his door and he just came across and didn't seem to care that I had the inside on him."
The contact would set Beauchamp back in the field; but, with improved handling the #60 Mopar Parts Dodge was able to start making up lost ground. Moving towards the front of the field Beauchamp was looking for a very good finish with the green, white checker finish that was looming due to a late race caution flag. On the restart once again all competitors were extremely aggressive and Beauchamp was collected in another incident. "I got caught in something out there and I got hooked together with the #3 car and I couldn't get loose" said the frustrated driver. "We did manage to shake loose and we came up with an eighth place finish, but the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries car was even better than the result. I just want to thank everybody for their support, and to my whole team who worked really hard all day. Now that we've got the first one underway, I'm even more pumped up about the rest of the season" he said excitedly.
Ron Beauchamp Jr and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge Team will compete in all thirteen races on the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Round number two is next weekend, June 12th & 13th on the road course at Mosport International Raceway. All events this season will again be broadcast on TSN, the Keystone Light 200 airs at 2PM Eastern on Saturday June 12th. TOUGH LUCK FOR BEAUCHAMP AND TEAM MOPAR AT MOSPORT
June 13, 2010. Ron Beauchamp and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries team were looking to round number two of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at Mosport International Raceway this past weekend to help propel them forward in the overall championship standings. However even with a quick race car the circumstances encountered during road course events can work against you.
During the Saturday practice sessions the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries wasn't the fastest car but the entire team was confident they had a car to contend with during the race. "This car will be a good car for the race" said a confident Ron Beauchamp Jr. "I didn't expect to lay down the fastest qualifying lap, but we expect to be consistent throughout the race" he added.
As the green flag waved Sunday for the main event the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries team had planned a race strategy that was somewhat aggressive but didn't appear to be risky. "We thought that we would come in early whether there was a caution period or not and get fuel and then take tires later in the race" explained the driver. When the second caution period came before lap twenty of the scheduled fifty one all appeared to be going smoothly. "We did just as we planned and came to take on fuel" said Beauchamp.
The trouble for the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team was that would be the final caution period of the day. As the laps ticked away under green the team could not ask their driver to make another stop as it would force him to give up far too much track position. "Everyone expected there would be an opportunity to pit later, but it just didn't happen" said the disappointed driver. "I knew that I'd just have to hold on as best I could. But with others having newer tires it became very difficult" he stated.
Beauchamp would use all his skills trying to maintain position and as the checkered flag fell he would be classified thirteenth. "It's a tough pill to swallow" he stated. "With older tires I just couldn't hold off some of the other cars" he added.
Of Note: The #60 Team received very sad news on Sunday when they learned one of the driving forces behind Mopar Parts enormous involvement in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and their close friend Rick Williams had passed away suddenly. Rick not only oversaw the Mopar Motorsports involvement in NASCAR and before that CASCAR for many years but took a personal interest in and touched each and every member of the racing community he came in contact with. Everyone at Beauchamp Motorsports would like to send their prayers and condolences to the surviving members of Rick's family. Rick truly was a friend to everyone in the racing community and he will be deeply missed by all.
Ron Beauchamp Jr and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge Team will compete in all thirteen races on the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Round number three takes place Saturday July 3rd at the Autodrome St. Eustahce. All events this season will again be broadcast on TSN, the Mosport event airs Sunday June 20th at Noon Eastern. TOP-FIVE FINISH FOR BEAUCHAMP AND TEAM MOPAR
July 4, 2010. Ron Beauchamp and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team came to the Autodrome St Eustache for round number three of the NASCR Canadian Tire Series looking to rebound from a disappointing result at Mosport. With a concerted team effort all the Team Mopar achieved their wish.
Through the afternoon practice session the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge was a handful for Beauchamp. "We just seemed to be off in the set up" said the frustrated driver. "We normally run really well here but today was a battle to get the handling right" he added.
Frustration would continue through qualifying as Beauchamp was only able to manage the twelfth best time in the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge. Starting in the middle of the pack Team Mopar had to be flexible in their approach to the race. "We think with the changes made we'll be better for the race as the track changes" said the driver. "We may have to make an early stop if things are still a bit off" he added.
In the early going the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge dropped even further back in the field but Beauchamp stuck with the plan. "It was tough early but as the track cooled down we got a little better" said the driver. As the race continued Beauchamp was able to begin moving forward.
Scheduled pit stops would also prove to be a challenge for the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team. "We had a little trouble with our left side tire change" said Beauchamp. "But I've got to give credit to the guys on Team Mopar we kept battling through" he added.
In the closing laps Beauchamp appeared to have the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge settled up front and able to challenge. "It seemed that on long runs the car would change and become a handful" explained the driver. "Then when I had the chance to ease up and let things cool down, we'd get faster again" he stated.
Working hard right up to the checkered flag Beauchamp was able to obtain a fifth place finish for the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge. It was a satisfying result after a trying day. "After a tough outing last time I think we've definitely changed the momentum of our team and are moving forward" stated Ron Jr. "We had to fight for everything we got today and I'm really proud of how the guys worked so hard today" summed up the driver.
With the fifth place result Beauchamp and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge now sit sixth in the overall championship.
Ron Beauchamp Jr and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge Team will compete in all thirteen races on the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Round number four takes place Saturday July 17th on the streets of Toronto at Exhibition Place during the Toronto Indy weekend. BEAUCHAMP BUMPED FROM BEHIND SUFFERS CUT BRAKE LINE
July 25, 2010. Ron Beauchamp and the #60 Mobil 1/Mopar Parts/Exide Batteries team worked tirelessly to improve the performance of their race car throughout the weekend during round five of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series this past weekend at the Edmonton Indy. Just when it looked like they were heading toward the front of the field during the race, a tap from behind would ruin their afternoon.
The team began the three race swing through western Canada struggling to achieve the performance they knew the #60 Mobil 1/Mopar Parts/Exide Batteries Dodge was capable of. "The car just wasn't feeling right during the Friday practice session" said Ron Beauchamp Jr. "We discussed a lot of areas we could adjust and by Saturday afternoon we had made a big improvement" he added.
Mired in the middle of the pack during practice Beauchamp jumped the #60 Mobil 1/Mopar Parts/Exide Batteries Dodge up to the seventh best qualifying time during the Saturday afternoon session. "I was able to drive the car deeper into the corners and really get a good bite coming of the turns" he stated.
As the green flag waved for the 100km event Sunday afternoon Beauchamp immediately looked for racing room to again improve the track position of the #60 Mobil 1/Mopar Parts/Exide Batteries Dodge. Others behind him weren't as cautious in their efforts and Ron Jr. was impacted from behind and sent awkwardly across the rumble strips in the corner. "In corner two the track narrows down and you need to be single file" explained the driver. "We got hit from behind and when we went across the rumble strips we cut a brake line" he stated.
The #60 Mobil 1/Mopar Parts/Exide Batteries team did an outstanding job to make the repairs on track and get Beauchamp back into the battle however the damage was done. Even quick repairs during green flag racing put them several laps down.
Beauchamp soldier the #60 Mobil 1/Mopar Parts/Exide Batteries Dodge to the finish and although he would be classified eighteenth he remains in the top-ten of the overall championship in eighth spot. "It was a tough weekend but we've got lots of racing left and this team will not quit" stated the driver. "We're headed to Vernon now and we know we'll have a fast race car" he concluded.
Ron Beauchamp Jr. and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge Team will compete in all thirteen races on the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Round number six takes place Saturday July 31st at Motoplex Speedway near Vernon, BC. TOUGH AFTERNOON IN TORONTO FOR BEAUCHAMP
July 17, 2010. Ron Beauchamp and the #60 Exide Batteries/Mopar Parts/Mobil 1 team expected to keep their momentum going in the right direction coming off a top-five finish in their last outing of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. However during round for in Toronto as part of the Toronto Indy the team would be disappointed with the results.
The #60 Exide Batteries/Mopar Parts/Mobil 1 team struggled during practice and Ron Beauchamp would struggle to handle the car. "As I was coming up through the long right hand corner the car just snapped out from under me" said Beauchamp. Fortunately the body damage was mostly cosmetic.
The #60 Exide Batteries/Mopar Parts/Mobil 1 team made repairs and during qualifying the performance improved. "After talking with the team and some of the other guys we took some rear brake bias out of the car and it was much better". Because of the troubles during practice the team was relegated to the slower qualifying group and would start the 100km feature race sixteenth.
As the race began Beauchamp looked to move the #60 Exide Batteries/Mopar Parts/Mobil 1 Dodge forward in the field and had moderate success in the early going. "I just tried to make sure I stayed away from any contact and trouble that might occur from some guys trying to get the early jump" said Beauchamp.
As the race began to unfold Beauchamp noticed that something was wrong with the handling of the #60 Exide Batteries/Mopar Parts/Mobil 1 Dodge and tried to compensate. "The car wasn't braking the way it should" explained the driver. "I tried to help by using the transmission to help slow the car but that wasn't good enough" he added.
Soon after the #60 Exide Batteries/Mopar Parts/Mobil 1 Dodge would stop on course bringing out a full course caution and slowing the field. During this time Beauchamp managed to coax the car back to pit road where after an inspection of the rear end suspension the pronounced the car broken beyond repair, they were finished after only seven laps. "This is a tough one to swallow" said the driver. "The positive is that we did find the set up for the car to run quicker on this kind of street course and we'll absolutely be faster in Edmonton next week" he stated.

BEAUCHAMP SCORES TOP-TEN IN MOPAR PARTS/MOBILE 1/EXIDE BATTERIES DODGE
August 1, 2010. Ron Beauchamp and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team demonstrated how fast their car was and how well the team performed during practice, qualifying and the early part of round number six of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series at Motoplex Speedway near Vernon, BC this past Saturday night. But for the second week in a row contact from another competitor took away their opportunity for a significantly better finishing position.
Throughout the practice session the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge was among the quickest cars and Beauchamp would qualify with the fourth quickest time. "The car felt really good during the day" said Beauchamp. "The challenge with this track is the handling changes so much during the race it's hard to keep up with" he added.
When the green flag waved on the 300 lap feature event Beauchamp accepted what the car and track conditions were able to give them. "We lost a few spots in the early part of the race during a long green flag run but it wasn't too big a concern because it's such a long race" he stated. "I knew the team would make adjustments and we'd be solid for the end" he added.
Events appeared to play out according to plan. "When we got the opportunity to make our pit stops the team did a good job on the adjustments and we were in pretty good shape" said the driver.
Moving through the second half of the event the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge showed noticeable improvement and Beauchamp was moving forward again. "I was just taking it easy still" said Ron Jr. "The car was coming to me, we were inside the top-ten and moving up" he explained.
Once again however the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team fortunes changed due to the actions of others. "I was passing a car that was a few laps down through corners three and four and when we were around in corner one and two my spotter told me he was diving hard inside and the next thing I know it's mayhem" he said in frustration.
The significant collision would see Beauchamp and #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge turned around on track, another car climbing over the hood and doing enormous damage to the car. Even that could not stall the resolve of the team.
Knowing their chances at a top finish were ruined the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team worked to clear and repair the damage as best they could and ask their driver to give them all he could muster. Beauchamp would fight to the finish and manage to score a tenth place result. "The frustrating part is we had made our pit stops, our car was strong and we get hit by a lapped car" said Beauchamp. "We definitely had a much better car than the result shows" he added.
Ron Beauchamp and the#60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge sit eighth in the overall season championship standings.

BEAUCHAMP BATTLES WITH LOOSE CONDITION AT SASKATOON
August 1, 2010. Ron Beauchamp and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team expected another strong showing in the final event of the western Canada swing for the NASCAR Canadian Tire series at Auto Clearing Speedway in Saskatoon. However, following a solid practice session and qualifying run the cars handling characteristics would let them down and leaving the team struggling for answers.
During practice on the 1/3 mile oval Beauchamp had the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge among the top running cars for much of the session. "We made a few changes trying to improve the car near the end of practice and we slowed down a bit" said Beauchamp. "So we went back to where we were and knew what to expect from the car" he added.
During qualifying Beauchamp again showed plenty of speed in the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge posting the fourth quickest qualifying run putting him on the outside of row two for the 250 lap feature event. "It was a good run for us" smiled the driver afterwards. "I just want to make sure I can get to the inside line quickly off the start" he added.
As the race began Beauchamp was running in or near the top-five in the field for much of the early going before feeling the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge start to develop a loose condition. "The car was starting to become a handful so we decided during the first caution to come in for some fuel and a handling adjustment" explained the driver.
When the race restarted Beauchamp was still unable to have the handling he needed from the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge. And the race would remain under green for 150 laps not allowing the team to make their scheduled stop for new tires that would improve the situation. "There was nothing we could do" said the disappointed driver. "If we'd been able to make a stop sooner the crew could have dialed the car in a little more and I know we would have been able to finish in a better position than eleventh" he added.
Even with the less than satisfying result Ron Beauchamp Jr. and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge remain ninth in the overall championship standings just three points from eighth spot. "It says a lot about how good this team is and how hard the crew works to have all the damage on this car repaired after the hit we took in the last race. Everybody worked a couple of really long days and got it done and did a great job" said the driver.
Ron Beauchamp Jr. and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge Team will compete in all thirteen races on the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Round number eight will take place on Sunday August 15th at the Grand Prix of Trois Rivieres. TOUGH BREAK FOR BEAUCHAMP AT TROIS RIVIERES
August 15, 2010. Ron Beauchamp and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team were charging for a top-five finish at round number eight of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series this past weekend at Trois Rivieres, Quebec. A part failure on the final lap of the race would rob them of the strong finish they deserved.
Through practice and qualifying the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team worked to achieve the kind of performance they knew is possible. “The car was okay during the practice session” said Beauchamp. “It was better during qualifying and we knew that we could make some further adjustments to take another step forward” he added.
Beginning the race Sunday afternoon in the ninth spot Beauchamp knew almost immediately that the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge had taken that step up in performance. “The car felt really good right from the start of the race” said the driver. “I knew that this car was capable of moving forward”.
As the race progressed Beauchamp continued to move the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge forward in the field. “Everything was going well for us” said the driver after the race. “I wasn’t pushing the car too hard and we had moved up in the field. “Everything was going well for us” said the driver after the race. “I wasn’t pushing the car too hard and we had moved up near the top-five” he added.
A late race full course caution would have the field poised for a green, white, checker finish. Beauchamp was looking to capitalize on the opportunity and try to gain another position or two on what would be the final laps.
However the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge would suffer a mechanical failure and take from Beauchamp the finish he deserved. “I felt that the car did not feel right as soon as the race restarted” said the driver. “I immediately eased off and tried to get to the finish. Then it just got worse as the lap went on and I knew it was very serious”.
The broken part would leave the team disappointed but the performance of the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge was encouraging. “I think we definitely learned some things about this new car that we’ll be able to apply and take advantage of at the race in Montreal and going forward” said Beauchamp.
Ron Beauchamp Jr. and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge Team will compete in all thirteen races on the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Round number nine will take place on Saturday August 21st at Mosport Speedway. TEAM MOPAR FINISHES FOURTH AT MOSPORT
August 22, 2010. Ron Beauchamp and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team never let down in their efforts even when dealt with adversity. During round number nine of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series this past Saturday night at Mosport Speedway near Bowmanville, Ontario the team was rewarded for their efforts. The #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge wasn’t the fastest car during practice sessions but the team was most concerned about having a race car that was able to go the distance in the 200 lap feature event. “We worked on the handling of the car mostly” said Beauchamp. “We know how much speed this Mopar car has we need to be able to use it to our advantage.
Beauchamp qualified the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge eighth and started the race looking to improve his position. He didn’t have to wait long. “The car was solid all day and right from the start I was able to start gaining positions” said the driver.
Beauchamp would continue his steady pace and soon maneuver the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge into the top-five. “I wasn’t trying to do too much, we were worried about maybe the rain starting but I just let the car come to me and we continued to move forward” stated Beauchamp.
In the late stages of the race Beauchamp would be challenging for the lead and actually cross the timing line in first place on lap 177. “I had the nose past the #4 car at one point and we had a really good battle going” said Beauchamp.
A series of late race caution periods would wind up working against the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge driver. “The car needed a few laps to get up to speed and actually the longer ran under green the better it was” explained the driver.
The #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge driver fought hard in the closing stages looking for a podium finish. “I thought there was an opportunity but then the #4 got into me a little bit, then I was under attack” said the driver. Beauchamp would finish the race in fourth position and give the team a much needed boost. “It’s too bad we had all those late restarts I just didn’t get to run long enough under green. I really think we had something for them” said the driver. “But we’ll take this result, it’s great for the whole #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team and we’re pumped up heading for Montreal” he added.
Ron Beauchamp Jr. and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge Team will return to action next Sunday August 29th with the final road course event of the season at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, QC. You can watch that race live on TSN beginning at 11:30AM Eastern Time. For more information about Team Mopar go online to www.mopar.ca and for series information check out www.nascar.ca.

TEAM MOPAR SCORES TOP-TEN IN MONTREAL
August 29, 2010. Ron Beauchamp and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team continued the momentum from last weeks top-five finish at round number ten of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, QC this past Sunday. With a difficult mid pack starting spot Beauchamp would battle for every position and be rewarded with a top-ten finish.
During practice and qualifying the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge just wasn’t performing the way Beauchamp wanted. “I just wasn’t able to get the kind of feel from the car I was expecting” said the driver. “But the team did a lot of work and made plenty of changes to give me a better car for the race” he added.
With a couple of early caution periods that kept the field close Beauchamp was able to immediately start moving the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge forward. “The car drove really well” he stated. “I managed to get a couple of spots early and gave me some confidence” he added.
As the laps ticked away and the racing between competitors continued to be very aggressive Beauchamp just looked to maintain his consistent lap times and take advantage of any opportunities he saw. “Everything just seemed to be working well for us and I moved into the top-ten and was up running about sixth when the last caution came out” said the driver.
With a green, white checker finish in store Beauchamp was looking to ensure his second straight top-five finishing position. “On that last restart it got pretty bumpy between the #02 car and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge” said the driver. The two would bump together and Beauchamp would impact the wall on drivers left. “The car got out of shape and it was a pretty hard hit. After that I gathered it back up and made sure we came out with our top-ten finish”.
Beauchamp would take the checkered flag and be classified ninth in the race and improved his position in the overall standings to seventh. “I’m really happy we came up with such a good run in this race” said the driver. “It’s a big weekend for our sponsors so I’m glad we had such a good race in the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge” he concluded.
Ron Beauchamp Jr. and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge Team will return to action on Saturday September 11th at Barrie Speedway. BEACHAMP WINS POLE AT BARRIE, SCORES THIRD CONSECUTIVE TOP-TEN FINISH
September 11, 2010. Ron Beauchamp and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team were excited about the return to oval track racing for the final three events of the 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire series season. Round number eleven at Barrie Speedway near Barrie, Ontario on Saturday night once again showed Team Mopar are challengers that deserve respect.
The #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge was nearly perfect during the afternoon practice session and the team made few changes to the set up on the car. During qualifying Beauchamp would circle the 1/3 mile oval track in 14.369 seconds to claim the pole position. “That was a really good lap” said Beauchamp. “The team did an awesome job getting the car ready and it was perfect for qualifying” he added.
The pole sitter is to set the pace and lead the field to green for the start of the race. Along the outside of row one the #22 car appeared to jump the start of the 300 lap event but officials let it go and Beauchamp settled the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge into second spot. “I just ran right in his tire tracks” said Beauchamp. “We were matching each other for lap times and we separated ourselves from the field”.
Near the mid-point of the race the field was slowed by a yellow caution flag and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team made a pit stop for fuel and left side tires. When racing action resumed Beauchamp struggled with the handling of the car. “After the pit stop the car tightened up on me” explained the driver. “So I just eased up, gave myself a little room, we were still running up near the front and our plan was to pit at the next caution to take on right side tires, and that would improve the handling” he stated.
Unfortunately that next caution would be a long time in coming, well into the late stages of the race. The #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge had fallen back a little but was still in the hunt when the yellow flag finally waved. “I wanted that caution a bit sooner” said the driver “but this is how it played out so we had to deal with it”.
In the closing stages of the race another caution period would result in a ten lap dash to the finish. “I knew it was going to get pretty rough at the end” said the driver. “I’m not really sure who hit me but we got spun around just after the restart. I got the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge back going and did all I could right to the finish” he added.
Beauchamp would bring the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge home to a sixth place finish. The result would also hold down seventh in the overall championship standings. “We’re on a good run right now” said the driver “I can’t wait to get to these last couple of races and really put on a show” he added.

BEACHAMP WINS POLE AT BARRIE, SCORES THIRD CONSECUTIVE TOP-TEN FINISH
September 18, 2010. Ron Beauchamp and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team continued their run of strong finishes at round number twelve of the 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire series season at Riverside Speedway near Antigonish, Nova Scotia on Saturday. After three consecutive top-ten finishes Beauchamp narrowly missed out on a podium result and claim a fourth place finish.
The day began with the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge showing well during practice however qualifying was not quite as successful. Beauchamp would begin the 300 lap feature event from the tenth starting spot.
As the green flag waved to begin the event Beauchamp continued to struggle with the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge. “We made some changes to the car to loosen it up a bit after practice and we just went a bit too far” explained the driver.
At the first yellow flag caution period the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team took the opportunity to make a pit stop for adjustments. “We knew we had a good race car and we didn’t panic” said Beauchamp. “As we made our scheduled pit stops the team worked on the car and it began to improve” he added.
After the changes were made to the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge Beauchamp began to move forward in the field. Following the final stop of the afternoon for tires and adjustments Beauchamp was up near the front of the field and was able to challenge. “After the last stop I had the race car I wanted” said the driver. “And I was able to really able to battle with the leaders” he added.
In the closing stages of the race Beauchamp pushed the #60 Mopar Parts / Mobil 1 / Exide Batteries Dodge and fought with the #3 and #4 cars for the final podium position. “There was a different car on the podium on just about every lap as we got near the end” said the driver. “I thought I was going to be able to get the #4 car on the last lap but it didn’t quite work out” he stated.
Beauchamp would take the checkered flag and score a fourth place finish for the #60 Mopar Parts / Mobil 1 / Exide Batteries Dodge team, their fourth consecutive top-ten finish. Beauchamp is also seventh in the overall championship standings. “We’ve got some real momentum going here in the last few races” said Beauchamp. “The team has worked really hard and we’re anxious to get to Kawartha next weekend, it’s a track we should do very well at”.

BEAUCHAMP QUALIFIES MOPAR PARTS DODGE ON FRONT ROW AT KAWARTHA
September 25, 2010. The #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team has been on a strong run during the second half of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series season posting four consecutive top-ten finishes. As driver Ron Beauchamp and the team arrived at Kawartha Speedway near Peterborough, Ontario for the final event of the year, they continued their strong showing.
During the afternoon practice session the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge was solid but Beauchamp and Crew Chief Chris Couvillion felt there definitely were gains to be made. "We talked after practice and Chris made some changes that really helped the car" said Beauchamp. "I was pretty happy with the lap we put down and thought we had a shot at the pole until the #17 bumped us" he added.
Rain showers fell after qualifying delaying the start of the 250 lap feature event. Beauchamp would line up the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge on the outside of row one and early on learned that the showers also changed the track conditions and they were not suitable to the car. “The car was pretty tight at the beginning of the race and we slid back a few spots” explained the driver.
That theme would continue for the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge team. "Every time we ran for a while the car would tighten up" said Beauchamp. "When we came in and adjusted, the car was good again and when we made our final pit stop for right side tires, the car was perfect" he said enthusiastically.
With a car he could push to the limit Beauchamp began to charge the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge toward the front. Ron Jr. would climb into the top-ten and fight amongst the top five cars in the closing stages when the fights for positions became more than little physical. “I was running pretty strong and think I got roughed up a little by the #89 car and the #23 car and both times I lost a few spots” said the frustrated driver.
Beauchamp would hustle the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge to the end and claim the tenth finishing spot. “A top-ten finish is pretty good” he said. “I think we had a better car than that, but with another top ten run we locked up seventh spot in the overall championship which I’m happy about” he added. Ron Beauchamp Jr. and the #60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge Team want to thank the many race fans for their tremendous support during the 2010 season. You can watch the race from Kawartha Speedway near Peterborough, Ontario on TSN on Sunday October 10th at 1PM Eastern.
